Standard Bearer

Each year a member is selected as standard bearer.

Ged Deane, 44, from Coldstream is the club's official Standard Bearer for 2013 and the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Flodden.  He says,

"when I was announced as Standard Bearer for this year, to say that I was very honoured is an understatement".

Ged has been a member of the club for five years.  He has always served on the committee;  he is passionate about what it stands for and what it represents.

"This year as the 500th anniversary, it will mean so much to many different people, I feel privileged that I will be leading the procession up Flodden Hill on the 9th September".

Ged has lived in the Scottish Borders for 18 years, having ‘migrated’ from the capital.  He lives with his wife Helen and their son Nicholas and regards Coldstream as ‘home’ because of it’s beauty, it’s people and it’s history.
